Historic Triangle Democratic
Women's Group
Membership in
The Historic Triangle Democratic Women’s Group (HTDWG) is geared, but not
limited, to women from James City County, Williamsburg, and upper York
County.
HTDWG’s focus can
be described in four general categories:
Social - Monthly
gatherings provide an opportunity to discuss Democratic ideas and values. In
the tradition of the Democratic Party, we welcome diverse thought.
Issue Education –
HTDWG recognizes women’s contributions to the community. Current issues and
political positions are researched and discussed. Speakers are invited to
meetings.
Political Action –
HTDWG provides an opportunity to women, new to the political process, to
receive information on basic political involvement. The group supports and
encourages participation of women in local boards and committees as well as
women candidates for office.
Public Relations –
HTDWG promotes its efforts and the Democratic ideals through newspaper
articles and editorial letters. This is an effective tool to reach out to
prospective participants.
