The recent election was a disappointment with a big win by the Republicans after a string of Democratic victories.  However, all Democrats running in James City County won.  Robin Abbott was one of only two Democrats to pick up a Republican seat in the House of Delegates, where the Republicans increased their majority.  Delegate Bill Barlow was reelected by a 4 point margin in a tough race.  Supervisor Jim Icenhour got 70% of the vote against a last minute stealth write in opponent, validating his limited growth approach.   Supervisor John McGlennon was unopposed.

We will have a candidate to run against Representative Wittman in the upcoming Congressional election.

The committee's Day of Caring volunteers, recruited by Mike Ludwick, included Willie Brown, Troy Farlow, Jim Icenhour, Clay Henson, Jane Nichols, John Nichols, Emily Pease, and Linda Rice.   The project was delivering meals with Meals on Wheels, which serves not just the poor, but also those more affluent who are alone and housebound. If you are interested in volunteering with Meals on Wheels, please call 757-229- 9250.  They can use the help and it takes just a few hours or so a month.
